Although the relationship between borderline personality traits and aggression is widely studied, there has been little attention to investigate the role of anger rumination and hostile attribution bias as mediators of this relationship. The aim of the present study was to investigate the mediating role of anger rumination and hostile attribution bias in the relationship between borderline personality traits and aggression in a descriptive-correlational study. The population included all the students of the Islamic Azad University of Neyshabur in 2020, from whom 211 people were selected using convenience sampling. The participants completed aggression questionnaire, borderline personality scale, anger rumination scale and hostile attribution bias questionnaire. Data was analyzed by Lisrel and SPSS26 software, using structural equation modeling. The results of this study show that there is a significant relationship between the borderline personality traits, anger rumination, hostile attribution bias and aggression (p<0.05). Also, anger rumination and hostile attribution bias mediated the relationship between borderline personality traits and aggression (CFI= 0.96, NFI= 0.95, NNFI= 0.95, IFI= 0.96, GFI= 0.90). The results of this study emphasize the importance of anger rumination and hostile attribution bias in the relationship between borderline personality traits and aggression. As a result, using or developing appropriate educational and therapeutic interventions in this field can help reduce aggressive behaviors.

This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of narrative group therapy on resilience, functional disability, and psychological distress of patients with chronic schizophrenia. The current research method was quasi-experimental with pre-test, post-test, and follow-up with control and experimental groups. The population of the research included men aged 20 to 60 with chronic schizophrenia in Ardabil in 2023 who were hospitalized in treatment and rehabilitation centers for chronic psychotic patients, and their number was estimated to be around 250. Convenience sampling was used due to the impracticality of gathering patients from other centers for group therapy. One treatment and rehabilitation center for chronic patients was selected through this method based on the availability of the required sample size and the level of cooperation. After reviewing the psychological files and considering the inclusion criteria, 30 participants were selected and randomly divided into experimental (n=15) and control (n=15) groups. Both the control and experimental groups answered the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, the WHO Disability Assessment Schedule, and the Psychological Distress scale before, after, and one month after the intervention, and their data were compared with the use of descriptive statistics and analysis of variance with repeated measurements analyzed in SPSS22 software platform. The results showed that resilience, functional disability, and psychological distress (anxiety, stress, and depression) have a significant difference from the pre-test stage to the follow-up stage. Therefore, it can be concluded that narrative therapy leads to the improvement of resilience, functional disability, and psychological distress of chronic schizophrenia patients.

The current research was conducted with the aim of comparing the effectiveness of effective parenting training with the schema therapy approach and positive parenting training on parental locus of control and meta-parenting in mothers of children with conduct disorder. The method of the current research was a quasi-experimental one with pre-test-post-test and a control group with a follow-up stage. The population included all mothers of students with behavioral problems in the second period of elementary school in Tehran in the academic year of 2020-2021. From this population, after the implementation of the Sprafkin test (the fourth edition) a sample of 60 people (three groups of 20 children's mothers, including two experimental groups and one control group) was selected using the availability sampling. They were given Sprafkin children's behavioral syndrome questionnaires and parental locus of control questionnaire by Campiz et al. The data was analyzed using repeated measures analysis of variance. The results revealed that both interventions led to a significant increase in parental locus of control and meta-parenting. Also, there was no significant difference between their effectiveness. According to the results of the present study, it is suggested that educators, therapists and psychologists design and develop therapeutic and educational interventions to support children with conduct disorders, because effective parenting can provide the possibility of better control of behavioral problems in these children.

This research aimed to investigate the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) on intolerance of uncertainty and psychological inflexibility in individuals with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). The study utilized an experimental design with pre-test, post-test, and control groups. The population consisted of individuals diagnosed with GAD who were referred to four psychological health centers in Tehran, Iran, in 2018. The research sample comprised 30 individuals with GAD, selected through convenience sampling, and randomly assigned into two groups: experimental (n = 15) and control (n = 15). Data was collected using the Acceptance and Action Questionnaire—II (AAQ-II), the Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale, and clinical interviews. The results of the Multivariate Analysis of Covariance (MANCOVA) indicated that ACT significantly reduced both intolerance of uncertainty and psychological inflexibility among individuals with GAD (P < 0.05). The findings suggest that intolerance of uncertainty and psychological inflexibility are key factors contributing to the persistence of GAD, and ACT can be effective in reducing these cognitive patterns.

Individuals experiencing prolonged grief often face issues such as a lack of empathy for others, decreased interpersonal communication, and increased rumination. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of existential group therapy on empathy, communication skills, and rumination in long bereavement patients. The research utilized a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test, post-test, and follow-up, including a control group. The population consisted of all patients suffering from prolonged grief in the city of Boukan in 2022. Participants were selected through convenience sampling and placed into a single group. Initially, questionnaires assessing empathy, communication skills, and rumination were distributed among the group (pre-test). Subsequently, the group underwent existential group therapy interventions, meeting once a week for 2 hours over 8 weeks. After the sessions, a post-test was administered to the group, followed by a follow-up three months later. Data was analyzed using repeated measures ANOVA. The results indicated significant differences between the control and experimental groups in the post-test scores related to empathy, communication skills, and rumination (p<0.05). Thus, the intervention of existential group therapy was found to be effective in improving empathy, and communication skills, and reducing rumination in individuals experiencing prolonged grief.

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between existential concerns, incompleteness, and insight with dimensions of obsessive-compulsive disorder in female students. In this correlational research, the cluster sampling was employed to select 460 undergraduate female students of Guilan University in the academic year 2023-2024. The data was collected by Padua Inventory (1988), the Existential Concerns Questionnaire, Brown Incompleteness Scale, and Beck Cognitive Insight Scale, then analyzed by focal correlation analysis. Results revealed that there is a significant focal correlation between existential concerns, incompleteness, and insight with dimensions of obsessive-compulsive disorder in female students, and the correlation coefficient was 0.63 (p < 0.001). Also, 39% of changes in obsessive-compulsive disorder dimensions is predictable. The existential concerns (-0.64) and incompleteness (-0.53) had the highest focal weight, respectively. According to research results, existential concerns, incompleteness, and insight affect the obsessive-compulsive disorder dimensions in students and thereby increase its symptoms and manifestations. Existential concerns and incompleteness have the greatest effect on dimensions of students’ obsessive-compulsive disorder, so their effect on students’ psychological vulnerability can be prevented by necessary training and prevention.

The goal of this research was to study the impact of the sexual cognitive reconstruction education on the sexual satisfaction and sexual self-esteem in women with sexual problems. The research method was quasi-experimental done with pre-test post-test multi-group design. The population included all the women in the age range of 25 to 40 with sexual problems who had referred to the Psychotherapy Centers for Sexual Disorders in Ardabil City in 2022. The sample contained 30 people who were selected by convenience sampling and placed into two groups of sexual cognitive reconstruction (15 people) randomly and control group (15 people) in simple random way. Data collection was done using the questionnaire of female sexual function index (Rosen & et al.., 2000), the questionnaire of sexual satisfaction (Hudson & et al.., 1981) and female sexual self-esteem index (Zeanah & Schwarz, 1996). The cognitive reconstruction<strong> </strong>education was presented to the experimental group in eight sessions lasting 75 minutes. Data analysis was done by the multivariate analysis of covariance following SPSS20 software. The results indicated that sexual cognitive reconstruction education effects on incensement of the sexual satisfaction (P<0.001, F=708.50) and sexual self-esteem (P<0.001, F=139.45) in experimental group. Therefore, it can be said that the sexual cognitive reconstruction education can increase the amount of sexual satisfaction and sexual self-esteem in women with sexual problems.
